The Dynamic Coalition on Small Island Developing States in the Internet Economy (DC-SIDS) is an organization that aims to promote dialogue and collaboration on internet governance, policy, and the digital economy for Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
The DC-SIDS co-organizes the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Internet Governance Forum (IGF) with the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU). The SIDS IGF is a platform for SIDS to engage in global internet governance discussions, share experiences and challenges, and identify mechanisms to address critical issues. The first SIDS IGF was held in 2022 as part of the 18th CTU CIGF. The second SIDS IGF will take place virtually on the sidelines of the Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States (SIDS4) in 2024.
SIDS are a group of 39 countries and 18 Associate Members of United Nations regional commissions that face unique social, economic, and environmental challenges. SIDS are some of the world's most disaster-prone countries, and investing in reducing disaster and climate risk is important for their sustainable development.
